Discover one of Germany's most scenic long-distance hiking trails. High above the River Werra, medieval castles and stately residences overlook the landscape, while picturesque half-timbered villages line the valley below.

The Werra Castle Trail winds through the beautiful mountain and river landscapes of the Münden Nature Park, Meißner-Kaufunger Wald Nature Park and the Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park.

Following both sides of the former inner-German border, the trail passes through unspoilt countryside and historic villages that have preserved their unique character. Today, the Green Belt nature reserve, the River Werra and an extensive network of premium hiking trails connect landscapes that were once divided.

After a rewarding day on the trail, we look forward to welcoming you back with a hearty regional three-course dinner. Unwind in our Wellness Area or treat yourself to a relaxing Thai massage (available at an additional charge), leaving you refreshed and ready for the next stage of your journey.

To make your hike even more enjoyable, we will transfer your luggage to your next accommodation (up to 20 km). Your packed lunch will be ready for collection at Reception before you continue your adventure.
